Elon Musk under federal investigation: Twitter in court filing

Share via:

Twitter said in a court filing that Elon Musk is being investigated by federal authorities for his conduct in his $44 billion takeover deal for Twitter Inc.

The filing did not specify the scope of the investigations or which federal agencies are conducting them. The case was put on hold on October 3 by Delaware Chancery Judge Kathaleen St. J. McCormick, who gave Musk and Twitter until October 28 to finalise their agreement. Musk’s attorneys have asked McCormick to punish Twitter’s lawyers for destroying potential case-related evidence. Twitter, which sued Musk in July to force him to close the deal, said Musk’s attorneys claimed “investigative privilege” when refusing to turn over documents it had requested.
