Ola employees revealed that founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal’s ruthless and abrasive behaviour at work alienated staff and upset board members.
Over the last few years, the culture at Ola Electric has become hostile, according to over two dozen current and former Ola employees who chose to remain anonymous in several interviews with Bloomberg. According to current and former employees, Mr Aggarwal tore up presentations in meetings due to a missing page number, liberally used Punjabi epithets toward staff, and referred to teams as “useless.” Meetings scheduled for an hour frequently lasted 10 minutes because Mr Aggarwal lost patience over a sentence construction in a memo, a crooked paper clip, or the quality of printing paper, according to employees quoted in the report.
