Netflix acquired Spry Fox, a Seattle-based independent gaming studio focused on cozy games. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Spry Fox is Netflix’s sixth in-house game development studio.According to Amir Rahimi, Netflix’s vice president of game studios, the acquisition will help Netflix accelerate its creative development in another popular genre. Spry Fox is well-known for titles such as “Triple Town,” “Alphabear,” and “Cozy Grove.” The news comes just a few weeks after Netflix VP of gaming Mike Verdu revealed onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt that the company is establishing a new gaming studio in Southern California.
