Airbnb altered the price display on its app after customer complaints

Airbnb Inc’s CEO tweeted on Monday that the vacation rental company would change the way prices are displayed on its platform.

“I’ve heard you loud and clear—you feel like prices aren’t transparent and checkout tasks are a pain,” CEO Brian Chesky said in a tweet. Starting next month, guests will be able to see the total price they are required to pay up front, according to Chesky. According to Chesky’s tweet, customers will now be able to see the full price breakdown, including Airbnb’s service fee, discounts, and taxes. According to Chesky, the San Francisco-based company’s search ranking algorithm will prioritise total price over nightly fare.
