In the midst of the ongoing battle between the Karnataka government and ride-hailing apps, the former is expected to finalise the convenience fee that the latter can charge customers who book auto rides through their platforms in the next day or two.
The Karnataka government’s transport department will have to file an affidavit before the High Court on Friday regarding the fee that companies like Ola and Uber can charge customers booking rides through their platforms, according to ET. On Monday, the case will be heard before Justice CM Poonacha. The Karnataka Transport Department issued a notice to Uber, Ola, and Rapido last month, instructing them to discontinue app-based auto rickshaw services in the state.
