WazirX received 764 inquiries from Indian law enforcement agencies in H1 FY23

Cryptocurrency exchange WazirX said in its transparency report for H1 FY23 that it received 828 requests from law enforcement agencies (LEA) against a total of 10 million transactions on the platform between April and September 2022.

Of the total number of queries received, 64 were from foreign law enforcement agencies such as the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Interpol, while 764 were from Indian law enforcement agencies such as the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and others. WazirX stated that it blocked over 700 accounts during the period, the majority of which were requested by users.
