Google to introduce “Continuous Scrolling” on desktop for Search

Share via:

Google is introducing a “Continuous Scrolling” feature on the desktop to eliminate the need for users to navigate across pages to find relevant search results for English-language queries in the United States, expanding on a feature that the company has offered on mobile for some time.

It is important to note that users should not confuse continuous scrolling with infinite scrolling. Users can see up to six pages of search results by scrolling down before seeing the “More” button to look for more results with continuous scrolling. Google limits continuous scrolling on mobile to four pages of search results at a time. Google’s search results have traditionally been “paged.” Until now, users who scrolled down the search result page and wanted to see more results had to click on the page number at the bottom.
