ONDC to begin charging platforms a ‘small fee’

The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), India’s open ecommerce protocol, is likely to begin charging platforms a ‘small fee’.

This fee will go towards the network’s’maintenance and development,’ according to T Koshy, managing director of the non-profit protocol, at the unveiling of the office headquarters in Delhi. While he did not specify the amount, Inc42 previously reported a 1.5% transaction fee from both the buyer and seller sides of the transaction. According to reports, this is still seven to ten times less than the typical online-selling commission rate of 23% to 28% on other ecommerce platforms.
