Kuku FM settles copyright infringement case with Pocket FM

Audio streaming platform Kuku FM entered into a settlement agreement with competitor Pocket FM in the much-publicised copyright infringement case.

This comes nearly seven months after Pocket FM filed a complaint with the Delhi High Court alleging that Kuku FM was infringing on copyright laws by publishing audio summaries of a few books for which the former had an exclusive licence. The contract was signed on December 16, 2022, and it was filed with the court on December 21, 2022. As part of the agreement, Kuku FM will drop the copyright infringement suit it filed against Pocket FM over a book about Mossad. Pocket FM petitioned the Delhi High Court in May 2021 to stop Kuku FM from publishing book title summaries and infringing on its exclusive rights.
