Twitter announced the ability for paid users to post longer tweets. Instead of being limited to 280 characters, Blue subscribers can send tweets of up to 4,000 characters.
Quote tweets and replies are subject to the same restriction. Twitter stated that in addition to long tweets, users can post media such as images or videos. While only Twitter Blue subscribers can send long tweets, anyone can read them. On the timeline, you will only see the first 280 characters, and if you want to read more, click on “Show more,” as shown in the tweet below. Because of the format’s introduction, subscribers may be tempted to post longer tweets rather than threads. However, if non-Blue users continue to post threads, things could get messy and confusing.
