Uber drivers with iPhones will soon be able to use the Uber app directly from their car’s dashboard while using Apple’s CarPlay.
The integration is being rolled out to drivers across the United States, and all drivers should have it by the end of the month. CarPlay is an Apple product that is used by the majority of major automakers to transform the head unit into a display and controller for an iOS device. Because the Uber driver app is integrated into CarPlay, drivers will no longer have to switch between their phone and the screen, or between apps, to view and accept trips, navigate, and add rides to their queue.
