A fire broke out at Apple vendor Foxlink’s manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district on Monday (February 27). According to two state government officials, up to 400 employees at the plant were quickly evacuated, and no casualties were reported.

They went on to say that the Apple supplier has temporarily halted production at the unit. According to a senior official with the local fire department, Foxlink estimated the damage at the facility to be INR 100 Cr. Meanwhile, the fire is said to have damaged roughly half of the machinery and gutted half of the building. Foxlink is a Taiwanese company that makes iPhone cables. In late 2020, the company began manufacturing cable and connectors in India, and last year, the company laid the groundwork for another unit in Tirupati.
