Twitter employees are speculating that The Boring Company CEO Steve Davis could replace Elon Musk as the company’s CEO.
According to the publication, Davis was involved in a round of layoffs at the social media company this week that affected approximately 200 people. According to Platformer, an executive at Musk’s tunnel company called Twitter managers ahead of the layoffs and asked them to identify “exceptional” employees. According to Platformer, Davis’ role in the layoffs has prompted employees at “all levels” of the company to speculate that he will succeed Musk as Twitter CEO. A Twitter spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment prior to publication. Davis was unavailable for comment.
