Typeface emerged from stealth this week with $65 million in venture equity backing from Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV (Google Ventures), M12 (Microsoft’s Venture Fund), and Menlo Ventures.
Typeface aims to “reimagine” content workflows and corporate content development by combining generative AI with a brand’s tone, audiences, and workflows, as Parasnis puts it. Customers can use Typeface to enter commands such as “Write a fun blog post about apple juice” and have the platform execute it, writing a several-paragraph draught piece complete with images. The tone of any images and copy can be tailored to appeal to specific demographics or to adhere to a brand’s style guidelines.
