Dubai Customs has announced a significant adjustment to the duty residents are required to pay on items purchased abroad. It implies that locals going on an Amazon shopping binge will pay less for their purchases.

A decision made by Dubai Customs in January regarding the threshold at which customers must pay duty is being reversed. The clearance of shipments via courier services is addressed in Dubai Customs Notice No. 5 of 2022. It is currently applicable and was announced in June of last year. The customs authority reportedly amended the rule on March 1 according to media reports in the United Arab Emirates.
