Ola Electric to offer a free upgrade of the front fork arm for its S1 electric scooters

Ola Electric, the electric vehicle arm of ride-hailing giant Ola, has announced that it will be offering a free upgrade of the front fork arm for its S1 electric scooters. This comes after rising complaints from customers about the quality of the scooters, which were launched in August 2021.

The announcement was made in a blog post by Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola. In the post, Aggarwal acknowledged that some customers had experienced issues with the front fork arm of the S1 scooter and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

“We take customer feedback very seriously, and we are sorry to hear that some customers have experienced issues with the front fork arm of the S1 scooter,” Aggarwal wrote. “We are committed to ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety for our customers, and we have decided to offer a free upgrade of the front fork arm for all S1 scooters.”

The front fork arm is a key component of the scooter’s suspension system, which helps to absorb shocks and vibrations when riding on uneven surfaces. The free upgrade will involve replacing the existing front fork arm with a new and improved one, which is designed to provide a smoother and more comfortable ride.

Ola Electric has not disclosed how many customers have experienced issues with the front fork arm, but the company says it will be contacting all S1 scooter owners to offer the free upgrade. The upgrade will be carried out at Ola Electric service centers across India, and customers will be notified when it is available in their area.

The decision to offer a free upgrade comes as Ola Electric faces growing competition in the Indian electric scooter market. The company launched the S1 and S1 Pro scooters in August 2021, and they were met with strong demand from customers. However, rival electric scooter makers like Ather Energy and Simple Energy have also launched new models in recent months, and competition is expected to intensify in the coming years.

Despite this, Ola Electric remains confident in the potential of the Indian electric vehicle market. In his blog post, Aggarwal emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and the role of electric vehicles in reducing carbon emissions.

“We believe that the future is electric, and we are proud to be at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution in India,” Aggarwal wrote. “We remain committed to building a sustainable and greener future for all, and we will continue to invest in the development of new and innovative electric vehicles.”
