Leaked photos reveal potential redesign for Tesla’s Model 3

Share via:

Tesla’s Model 3 has been a popular choice for electric car enthusiasts since its initial release in 2017, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen a major update. However, recent photos have surfaced showing what could potentially be the next big update to the Model 3, codenamed Project Highland.

According to a Reuters story, Tesla is looking to cut costs on the Model 3 by reducing the number of interior components and making slight exterior redesigns. While Tesla has yet to confirm any of these details, the recently leaked photos do show some interesting changes.

The front bumper looks to have been redesigned, getting rid of the “fat lip” present in the current Model 3. The headlights are also different and have a sleeker appearance. The wheels are two-tone and the dashboard has either been redesigned or is covered, making it difficult to see what changes have been made.

Overall, the new design looks sportier than the current Model 3. However, it’s important to note that it’s unknown if the vehicle featured in the photos is the next Model 3 or just a design prototype.

It’s worth noting that Tesla has yet to significantly redesign any of its vehicles since their launch. While the Model S received a major update in 2016, the Model X, Model 3, and Model Y have only received minor external tweaks.

Regardless of whether or not these leaked photos are the real deal, it’s clear that Tesla is looking to make some changes to the Model 3. Electric car enthusiasts will have to keep an eye out for any official announcements from Tesla to confirm what updates they can expect.
