Twitter seems to be gearing up to launch a new feature that will allow verified organizations on the platform to post job listings directly on their profiles. While an official announcement has not been made yet, some verified organizations have already started using the feature to post job listings under their Twitter bios. The job listings will lead interested applicants directly to the company’s website, where they can learn more about the position and apply.
Details of the “Twitter Hiring” Feature
App researcher Nima Owji shared a screenshot revealing the new feature, which Twitter reportedly refers to as “Twitter Hiring.” The feature aims to help verified organizations attract talent to their open positions, and they will be able to add up to five job positions to their profiles.
The screenshot also indicates that Twitter will offer a seamless way for verified organizations to import all of their open jobs to the platform by connecting to a supported Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or XML feed. This integration would allow them to add their job listings to the platform within minutes, streamlining the hiring process.
Elon Musk’s Hint and Acquisition of Laskie
The introduction of the job listings feature doesn’t come as a surprise, as Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, hinted at the possibility back in May. In response to a suggestion that Twitter should implement dating features, Musk mentioned, “Interesting idea, maybe jobs too.”
In preparation for this move, Twitter acquired Laskie, a job-matching tech startup, in May. This acquisition marked Twitter’s first since Musk purchased the company. It is speculated that Laskie’s technology played a role in the development and implementation of the job listings feature.
Twitter Taking on LinkedIn and Indeed
With the launch of this new feature, the platform is positioning itself to compete with popular job listing platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed. While Twitter users have previously posted job openings via tweets, this new functionality will make it easier for organizations to reach potential candidates across Twitter’s vast user base.
Job Listings Feature Inclusion in Verified for Organizations Package
Verified organizations won’t have to pay extra to access the job listings feature on Twitter. Media company Workweek, for instance, confirmed that they received access to the feature, and it is part of Twitter’s $1,000 per month Verified for Organizations package. This inclusion allows businesses to leverage Twitter’s platform to attract and connect with potential job applicants without incurring additional costs.
