Recently, Beverage giant Coca-Cola India marked its entry into ONDC with the launch of its marketplace, the Coke Shop.

The purpose of joining ONDC

By leveraging emerging technologies, DTDC said it aims to empower sellers on the ONDC network, particularly focusing on local businesses and small e-commerce sellers. The company said joining ONDC is part of its aim to enhance its services and position itself as a leader in the logistics sector.

“ONDC’s vision is to create a truly inclusive e-commerce ecosystem wherein every seller, regardless of size, presence, and location, can access equal trading opportunities. With DTDC live on ONDC Network, we are a step closer to this reality,” said T Koshy, MD & CEO, ONDC.

Focused on expanding reach

DTC, which claims to operate in over 5,000 pin codes across more than 100 cities, said it plans to extend its services to all 14,700+ pin codes in its next phase.

Notably, The expansion will include innovative service offerings such as Next Day Delivery, Pick Up and Drop Off (PUDO), and QC-enabled reverse logistics, it said.

The company added that these features are designed to streamline e-commerce operations like order management, inventory tracking, and payment processing to ensure a smooth logistics process for various sellers on the network.

It’s worth mentioning that ONDC is not limited to a specific application, platform, intermediary, or software but is a set of specifications designed to foster open digital commerce networks.
