Luckily for us, the founder of hemp-seed brand Hemptyful has found several everyday recipes that add to our health without any catch.
A Pune-based brand, Hemptyful continues to grab eyeballs with its unique offerings as part of its mission to help farmers, the environment and improve consumer health. Recently, the startup was selected by Gruhas Gusto, a  6-month accelerator program by Gruhas, Jubilant Bhartia Family Office, Sabre Ventures (DLF Family Office), and Anthill Ventures to scale with speed.

Incorporating hemp hearts and hemp oil into traditional Indian recipes is a delightful way to enhance their nutritional value. Hemp hearts can be used for garnishing on curries, stuffed into parathas, blend into lassis or can be sprinkled on the traditional upma or poha. Here are 7 top recipes to get you started:

1. Hemp Heart Chutney: Revanth Kaza, CEO and Co-founder of Hemptyful credits his entrepreneurial journey to this special chutney that he discovered in the Himalayas. The chutney is traditionally prepared using raw hemp seeds, but a chutney with hemp hearts packs more protein and omegas. This special chutney is a perfect pick-me-up for those looking to pair their traditional South Indian delicacies with a fresh twist.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Hemptyful’s hemp hearts
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 small piece of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons hemp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Water as needed

Instructions:

  1. Roast the hemp hearts in a dry pan until they are slightly golden.
