Tech giant Google is reportedly working with the Ministry of Electronics and IT’s (MeitY) Startup Hub to upskill 10,000 homegrown startups in artificial intelligence.
The move will help the company tap into India’s booming AI developer community and drive AI innovation globally.
On July 17, at a company’s developer conference in Bengaluru, Google said it is providing support and training to Indian startups with AI-first programming and curriculum via its programmes such as Appscale Academy and Startup School, according to Moneycontrol.
Additionally, the tech giant will also dish out $350K worth of Google Cloud credits to eligible startups for the development of cloud infrastructure and computational power crucial for AI development and deployment.
Further, Google also plans to launch a pan-India Gen AI Hackathon in collaboration with MeitY Startup Hub and the Startup India initiative. Dubbed the GenAI Exchange, the three-month long event will be held between August and October.
Aiming to support early-stage startups operating in healthcare, climate, agriculture, cybersecurity, and digital public infrastructure (DPI) sectors, Google will also introduce a three-day bootcamp named ‘Solve for India Startup Bootcamp | AI Edition’ in September.
A three-day bootcamp, Solve for India Startup Bootcamp | AI Edition, designed to support early-stage startups solving challenges across healthcare, climate change, agriculture, cybersecurity, and digital public infrastructure (DPI) is planned for September.
The development comes days after Google launched its AI-focused accelerator programme AI First in India in June.
As part of the three-month programme, Google will provide equity-free support to Seed to Series A startups using AI in their key products.
