B2B ecommerce platform Moglix has launched a next day delivery service to make quick deliveries of industrial goods, joining the bandwagon of quick deliveries.
The company said in a statement that this service will go live in 12 major Indian cities and it also has a corridor expansion plan for 40 cities in the next 6-12 months.
Through this initiative, Moglix seeks to cut the longer wait period of customers to receive commodities. The duration of industry standard for deliveries is 72-96 hours, currently, which the company is planning to shrink between the time frame of 12-24 hours.
The latest move is a direct response to the changing needs of businesses, especially small and medium-sized firms (SMEs), who largely depend on prompt delivery of industrial goods, the statement added.
Rahul Garg, founder and chief executive of Moglix said, “Our analysis showed that 25% of our orders come from 12 major urban centers, where growth rates surpass the national average, but conversion rates were lower. This insight led us to develop our Next-Day Delivery service. It’s more than just faster delivery; it’s about transforming the B2B e-commerce experience.”
Founded in 2015 by Garg, Moglix sells electrical supplies, power tools, motors, medical supplies and such through its online platform.
The B2B ecommerce platform, earlier this year, relocated its base to India, on the back of its plans to make a public market debut in the next two years.
The Noida-based company is betting on NDD’s potential resulting from the nature of growing demand from customers.
“By pioneering this service, we’re setting a new industry standard and enhancing the efficiency of India’s industrial sector,” Garg added.
This development comes at a time when quick commerce is at the limelight of consumer businesses.
Ecommerce platforms such as Amazon India is looking to launch its quick commerce services in India in the first quarter of next year, as per reports.
Meanwhile, rival Flipkart recently launched ‘Minutes’, its quick commerce service in Bengaluru, earlier this month.
