People in the know said through this step, Infosys is seeking to not just prevent fraudulent recruitment practices, but also provide a better hiring experience to candidates, prevent defrauding of gullible candidates and make the system paperless.
The latest initiative by Infosys comes amid broader controversies linked to delayed onboarding of freshers in the Indian software services industry.

The company’s recruitment vendors said, requesting anonymity, that the move is aimed at stemming recruitment fraud, while making it slightly difficult for candidates to window shop and bargain with rival employers.
A ticker on the career website of Infosys read, “Important notice-Infosys offer letter and associated documents are available only on our career site. Candidates can access this using their login credentials. We don’t send emails with attached offer letters to our candidates anymore. You can always validate your offer letter when in doubt by following this link – https://career.infosys.com/offerValidation”

Infosys’ Form 20F filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission showed in fiscal 2024, the company received 2,436,929 employment applications, interviewed 194,367 applicants and extended offers of employment to 26,975 applicants. “These statistics do not include our subsidiaries”, added the filing.Infosys also said on its career website about rising recruitment fraud involving scammers who post fraudulent jobs or contact jobseekers with fake offers.
Experts said hiring of unsuitable candidates and less committed employees could lead to service delivery disruptions, impact client satisfaction and productivity loss. They said virtual hiring during the pandemic led to many IT firms discovering unsuitable candidates getting offer letters. Many candidates also took their offer letters to rival employers for window shopping, they added.
Infosys’ latest move also bolsters its sustainability plans. The company has been strongly embarking on workplace transformation with new design principles for a reimagined office catering to the new normal. “Our new design focuses on health and wellbeing, productivity, social connect and inclusiveness, while also ensuring environmental sustainability”, Infosys said in its ESG report for FY24.
“We are deeply committed to being a well-governed, environmentally sustainable organisation where diverse talent thrives in an inclusive workplace,” it said.
