Restaurants in Mumbai have denied any knowledge of Swiggy’s recently launched One BLCK membership, resulting in the denial of benefits during dine-outs.
Swiggy recently launched One BLCK, an exclusive, invite-only premium subscription service, offering a host of benefits to users. However, the launch has been met with confusion in the restaurant industry. Several Mumbai restaurants have reported being unaware of the new membership and its associated benefits.
Establishments like Yuhi Lounge in Powai, Roude Lounge, Kubec Bistro, and True Tramm Truck, along with many others who wished to stay anonymous, have expressed that they were not informed about the One BLCK plan. As a result, some restaurant managers have been hesitant to provide benefits such as free drinks.
One such instance occurred at Yuhi Lounge, where the manager initially refused to serve free drinks, stating that they had not been informed about the promotion. Later, the restaurant informed CNBC-TV18 that Swiggy had issued an apology for the miscommunication and confirmed the availability of free drinks for eligible members.
What is Swiggy BLCK?
Introduced on December 11, 2024, the subscription is priced at ₹299 for a 3-month plan. Among the many perks, members enjoy on-time delivery guarantees, faster food deliveries, and complimentary cocktails or desserts when dining out at select partnered restaurants.
In addition to dining benefits, One BLCK members gain access to exclusive perks from top brands like Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Hamleys, Cinepolis, and more. To celebrate the launch, Swiggy is offering a complimentary Yatra Prime membership to One BLCK users.
The One BLCK membership is being rolled out in phases, with existing Swiggy One subscribers eligible for an upgrade. This new offering aims to provide a premium experience across Swiggy’s food delivery, quick commerce, and dining-out services, elevating the user experience with a range of unique and valuable benefits.
Response from Swiggy is awaited.
