Dubai’s RTA launched contest focused on self-driving buses

Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Monday that the deadline for companies and local academia to register for the third edition of the Dubai World Challenge for self-driving transport 2023 is August 31.

Those interested in participating can register online and compete for prize money totaling $2,300,000 (AED8,447,923 approximately) and $300,000 (AED1,101,904.50) for industry leaders and local academia, respectively. According to the statement, the third edition will focus on self-driving buses, reflecting RTA’s commitment to expanding the use of self-driving transport technology at all levels.
