After numerous delays, the three-member technical committee appointed by the Supreme Court has finally submitted its report on the Pegasus row. The case is expected to be heard by the Supreme Court on August 12, 2022.

On October 27, 2022, a three-judge bench comprised of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice Hima Kohli formed a technical committee on the matter and directed it to submit its report as soon as possible. Pegasus is spyware developed by Israeli cyber-arms company NSO Group that can be installed covertly on mobile phones via a zero-click exploit. Pegasus is only sold to government agencies around the world, according to the NSO Group. In July-August 2021, The Wire, an Indian news platform, investigated the Pegasus project with 16 other global media organisations and revealed a list of 174 influential Indians who were targeted by the spyware.
