Apple releases beta 3 for visionOS 2.2 and tvOS 18.2

Apple is rolling out the latest developer betas for visionOS 2.2 and tvOS 18.2. Beta 3 arrives not long after last week’s beta 2 releases, and brings the latest refinements to these upcoming software updates.

Highlights of forthcoming software updates

Among these updates, visionOS 2.2 is highly anticipated for its introduction of Mac Virtual Display upgrades.

The powerful Vision Pro feature now lets you use your Mac with a wide or ultrawide display setting. And no matter your preferred display size, the resolution has been improved for greater clarity than before.

tvOS 18.2 includes support for new aspect ratio settings, and lays the groundwork for forthcoming screensavers to be added too.

Installing the latest betas, and what to expect

You can download and install the new beta 3 releases via the Software Update section on Vision Pro and Apple TV 4K.

Normally with a third beta release, we would see some new changes and visible updates. But with the Thanksgiving US holiday happening next week, and public launches expected not long into December, that may not be the case today. Instead, the focus is likely on bug fixes and performance improvements.
