Indian Railways receives 297 proposals from startups as part of “StartUps for Railways” initiative

The Indian Railways received 297 proposals from startups under the ‘StartUps for Railways’ initiative, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Vaishnaw further mentioned that the ministry received suggestions for 11 issues. The minister tweeted that the broken train detecting system had received the most proposals. The creation of an online condition monitoring system for traction motors of 3-phase electric locomotives came in second with 42 suggestions, while automation of track inspection activities came in third with 43 proposals total received for this subject (40). The least amount of proposals, however, was received in regards to issues with the Headway Improvement System for suburban parts interoperable with the Indian Railways National ATP system (4).
