Zayo to Build Over 5,000 Miles of New Fiber to Meet AI Demand
Communications infrastructure provider Zayo has announced plans to build more than 5,000 long-haul fiber route miles to meet the growing demands of AI workloads. This expansion is in addition to the more than 5,000 fiber route miles the company has already build over the last five years. “Zayo’s investment will be critical to averting a potential bandwidth gap in the US as AI-driven data center capacity is expected to grow 2-6X over the next five years,” Zayo said in a statement on January 21, 2025.
