Top executives from major technology companies such as Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Uber, and Netflix, among others, are scheduled to meet behind closed doors with a parliamentary panel on August 23, 2022.
The parliamentary committee will debate a number of issues concerning global tech giants’ anti-competitive practises in the digital space. The agenda of the meeting, according to a Lok Sabha secretariat notice, is to take oral evidence from representatives of big tech companies on ‘anti-competitive practises by big tech companies.’ In April 2022, the standing committee decided to summon representatives from Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, and other major technology companies to investigate their competitive behaviour.
