The Competition Commission of India (CCI) will hold a closed-door hearing this week on charges related to Google’s contentious payment policy for Play Store developers.

The three-member CCI panel, led by chairman Ashok Kumar Gupta, is expected to hear the case later this week, according to Business Standard. The final order is expected to be delivered in September. Back in 2020, the tech behemoth announced that any app offering digital goods and services would be required to use the Play Store’s billing system and pay a 30% commission on in-app purchases.
