US-based tech giant Apple intends to begin producing the iPhone 14 in India. It has been working with Indian suppliers to increase iPhone 14 production and shorten the current production timeline of six to nine months.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is shifting iPhone 14 production away from China due to ongoing geopolitical tensions between the US and China, as well as the Chinese government imposing a nationwide lockdown that is halting business operations. Apple is currently producing the iPhone 13 in India at the factories of its partners Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron. It also set a target earlier this year of manufacturing iPhones worth INR 47, 000 Cr in India in fiscal year 2022-23.
