WhatsApp Communities feature is now live for beta users

Share via:

Mark Zuckerberg announced WhatsApp Communities, which allows users to create smaller groups within larger groups, earlier this year. After months of anticipation, the feature is finally being rolled out to WhatsApp beta users, indicating that a stable launch is on the way.

According to a new report by WABetaInfo, the communities tab has appeared for some users who have updated to WhatsApp beta v2.22.193 on Android. According to reports, the feature may not appear immediately for all beta users on the latest version, and some may have to force close and restart the app first. For those who do gain access, a new communities tab will appear on the main WhatsApp screen, replacing the camera tab on the left. Those who have access to the new Communities tab will be able to create a Community with up to 10 groups and up to 512 participants.
