Delhi Police allegedly busted a pan-India racket that defrauded users of INR 60 lakh

The Delhi Police allegedly busted a pan-India racket that defrauded users of INR 60 lakh via bogus ecommerce websites.

According to IANS, the racket was busted during an operation conducted by the Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) wing. After raids in Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, two people, Ravi Arora and Dinesh Sharma, were apprehended in connection with the case. KPS Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Cyber Cell, told media personnel that the operation was launched in response to a complaint alleging fraud by one such fake portal. The complainant purchased an air conditioner (AC) online from one such website and paid INR 28,472 using a digital wallet. When the air conditioner did not arrive, he attempted to contact the seller but was unable to reach him.
