Social media users have recently become aware of a new viral TikTok trend: quiet quitting.
Contrary to its name, quiet quitting entails establishing boundaries at one’s workplace. Working beyond operating hours, doing the bare minimum during work hours, and refusing to participate in the ‘hustle culture’ are all examples of boundaries. The term became the latest buzzword after TikTok user Zaid Khan explained it in a video. “I recently learned about the term quiet quitting, which refers to not quitting your job but quitting the idea of going above and beyond. “You’re still doing your job, but you’re not buying into the ‘hustle culture’ mentality that work has to be your life,” Khan explained.
