Bharti Airtel launched the “Airtel IQ” hackathon in collaboration with Meta-owned WhatsApp to identify and build next-generation business solutions on the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Winners of the hackathon will receive INR 1 Cr in prizes as well as business mentoring from WhatsApp and Airtel in product, engineering, and business. For the programme, the telco has identified five key sectors: ecommerce, edtech, banking and financial services (BFSI), travel and tourism, and contact centre operations. Airtel Accelerator currently has eight startups in its portfolio, and the hackathon may result in the addition of a few more.
