TikTok to launch live shopping in the United States

Share via:

TikTok is looking for partners to help it launch its live shopping offering in the United States, as it plans to outsource operations for these features.

According to the Financial Times, the short video app has been in talks with California-based TalkShopLive about providing infrastructure for TikTok’s live shopping features. This technology will enable creators and brands to sell goods via videos on the platform. TalkShopLive charges sellers a 10% commission for its services, and TikTok is likely to cover that cost during the project’s initial phase. According to the report, TikTok and TalkShopLive, which raised $6 million in a seed extension round last year, have yet to finalise any terms. As a result, there is little information about when the shopping feature will be available.
