BYJU’S new sales policy spooked thousands of employees

Share via:

BYJU’S has changed how it offers fixed salaries to thousands of its sales team employees as part of a massive restructuring exercise spanning its India operations.

Employees will now be required to select a fixed salary tier from which they will be assigned specific revenue targets, causing new employee discontent. Although sales targets are not a new phenomenon for BYJU employees, they were not previously linked to their fixed salaries. While company sources claim that this will streamline sales performance, employees claim that some revenue targets will not be met with the new inside sales approach. In a related cost-cutting measure, BYJU’S is reducing operations in 60 cities by closing some offices and relocating sales staff.
