Zomato revises policy and allows users to report health violations

Share via:

Zomato’s content policy has been revised to remove a guideline that prohibited users from reporting health-code violations on the restaurant discovery and food delivery platform.

The action was taken after a user tweeted on Sunday that a review she had posted on Zomato about getting food poisoning at a Bengaluru restaurant had been removed by the platform due to the platform’s content policy. Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato, wrote on Twitter: “This “policy” within our content guidelines is the result of (legal) overthinking, and we have removed this policy with immediate effect.” We have already reinstated your review. Thank you for drawing our attention to this and influencing positive change.”
