Kerala has launched a scheme to reimburse startup ventures for the costs of obtaining technology licences from government research institutions in the state in order to commercialise and scale up their products.
The government will reimburse startups up to Rs 10 lakh for purchasing or sourcing technology from government research institutions and working on it to develop products that could be commercialised under the ‘Technology Transfer Scheme’ project, which is being implemented through Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). Anoop Ambika, CEO of KSUM, stated that this scheme will help startups in the state gain greater access to the know-how needed to turn their ideas into marketable products.
