Apple Watch could face import ban in the US, here’s why

Share via:

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has upheld a ruling that Apple violated a patent held by medical technology company Masimo in relation to its Apple Watches. The ruling could potentially prevent Apple from importing its watches into the US. However, the decision is subject to presidential review and possible appeals. Masimo CEO Joe Kiani sees the decision as a message that even the largest company is not above the law. Apple has the option to appeal the ban once the review period ends. This is the second import ban Apple is facing for its watches, with another dispute against AliveCor ongoing.
