WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new mute shortcut for group chats, which will be available in an upcoming WhatsApp Desktop beta update. WhatsApp was also rumoured to be working on several other features for its PC client, including an official chat where the company will offer tips and announce new features.

WhatsApp is a popular instant messaging service used by over 2 billion people worldwide. Users of the Meta-owned instant messaging app can send messages and make video/voice calls to individuals and groups. WhatsApp group chats have long been a popular feature. Last month, the company updated this feature to allow more group participants and began allowing 1024 participants to join WhatsApp Communities groups and sub-groups. WhatsApp is now introducing a new feature for group chats on desktop that will improve both convenience and experience.
