According to sources cited by The Economic Times, the draught digital India act (DIA) will also include provisions governing cutting-edge technologies used by social media platforms such as advanced quantum computing, metaverse, and AI, among others. “The goal is to keep Indian citizens’ data from being misused.” Even if the data is stored in India, highly sophisticated algorithms can exploit it. “This must be avoided,” a source said.
