Google Play now lets children send purchase requests to guardians

Share via:

Google already provides parents and guardians with resources to limit the Play Store purchases their kids can make using the family payment method. When there isn’t a payment method available, the company is now introducing a new feature that will let kids send a purchase request for the family account manager to approve.

When the family hasn’t established a payment method, children can request parental consent for both in-app purchases and paid apps. After receiving this request via notification (or in their request queue), the family manager can use their preferred payment method, such as Google Play gift cards, to approve the request and complete the transaction. These requests are accessible to the manager via the pending and history tabs.
