Instagram’s text update Notes feature is expanding to Europe and Japan

Share via:

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced today that the social network’s text update Notes feature will be available in Europe and Japan. Notes are brief posts of up to 60 characters in length that contain only text and emojis and appear above your profile photo.

Since the feature’s initial rollout in December, Notes has been available everywhere Instagram is available outside of Europe and Japan. Users can post Notes by going to the top of their inbox and selecting the followers they follow back, as well as others from their existing “Close Friends” list. They can then type the note, which will appear at the top of their friends’ inboxes for 24 hours. If a user responds to a Note, the response will be delivered as a DM.
