Spotify has finally implemented a much-requested feature. The streaming service announced today the launch of a new “Exclude from your Taste Profile” feature that will allow you to exclude specific playlists from heavily influencing your personalised recommendations.
To put things into perspective, your taste profile is Spotify’s interpretation of your music taste based on what you listen to, and it is used to inform your recommendations. The new feature allows you to tell Spotify which playlists you want to have less influence on your recommendations, allowing for a more tailored personalization experience. People frequently create playlists for specific activities such as sleeping, working out, or parenting. If you listen to white noise while sleeping, your Discover Weekly and other personalised playlists may be heavily dominated by white noise.
