Apple has become the largest employer in India’s electronics sector. In the last 19 months, Apple has created one million new direct jobs.

According to a Business Standard report, Foxconn Hon Hai, Pegtron, and Wistron, Apple’s three contract manufacturers in India, have created 62% of the new jobs. In addition, the 62,300 jobs created by Apple’s contract manufacturers exceed their PLI job creation commitment by approximately 7,000 new jobs. The three firms are still expected to add a few thousand jobs by the end of the current fiscal year. Apple’s Indian suppliers, including Tata Electronics, Salcomp, Avary, Foxlink, Sunwoda, and Jabil, have created an additional 40,000 jobs.
