Cloud kitchen startup Rebel Foods announced its entry into the offline restaurant business, saying it has signed an agreement with Wendy’s, a US-based fast food chain, to develop and expand its offline restaurants in India.
Rebel Foods previously only had the rights to sell Wendy’s products through cloud kitchens. It signed an agreement in March 2020 to be Wendy’s exclusive cloud kitchen partner, with the goal of opening around 250 such kitchens by 2030. Rebel Foods said in a statement that it will help Wendy’s expand its restaurant model in India by providing digital expertise in delivery, automation, and innovation. It intends to open 150 Wendy’s retail locations across the country over the next decade (2033).
