Conversational AI startup Yellow.ai joined the growing list of startups issuing pink slips to employees. According to reports, the startup recently fired at least 50 employees. Because of slow growth and a bloated workforce, the startup has fired at least 200 employees since August.
According to its LinkedIn profile, the San Mateo, California-based startup employs 1,063 people. According to YourStory, the layoffs occurred over four rounds at the startup, with the first round taking place in August 2022. According to the publication, the startup fired the employees due to non-performance and business optimization goals. According to the report, Yellow.ai forced the employees to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which prohibited them from speaking to the media about the company’s layoffs.
