Just days after the Delhi government barred aggregators such as Rapido, Uber, and Ola from operating bike-taxis in the national capital, food delivery apps Swiggy and Zomato reportedly filed complaints with the Delhi government about challans issued to their two-wheeler riders.
Challans are being issued against food delivery riders in the NCR region in the name of a bike-taxi service ban, according to news agency PTI. To avoid further confusion, these food delivery platforms have asked the government for clarification on its directive. The companies claim that the notice was misinterpreted because the ban only applies to bike-taxi service providers. Swiggy said in a letter to the government that food delivery riders face fines of up to INR 15,000.
